Backed by progressive coalitions and grassroots groups, this event is part of a national wave of resistance, including the rising protest movement 50501, which has rapidly gained traction in 2025 through decentralized, anonymous organizing. With no formal leaders and a deep commitment to direct action, 50501 has become a powerful symbol of defiance against what it calls “the authoritarian drift” of American politics.
