Union Grove: Unite Against The Chaos

  • 925 Durand Avenue Union Grove, WI, 53182 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

We had such a powerful turnout on April 5 — and we’re coming back even stronger.

Join us on April 19 for Unite Against the Chaos — a bold day of action fueled by growing momentum across Wisconsin and beyond. As Maya Dillard, national coordinator with Rise United, put it:

“April 19 will be louder, bolder, and even more disruptive. We’re seeing anger crystallize into action.”

Backed by progressive coalitions and grassroots groups, this event is part of a national wave of resistance, including the rising protest movement 50501, which has rapidly gained traction in 2025 through decentralized, anonymous organizing. With no formal leaders and a deep commitment to direct action, 50501 has become a powerful symbol of defiance against what it calls “the authoritarian drift” of American politics.

We're showing up — with truth, with courage, and with community.

🗣️ Bring your voice. 📣 Bring your signs. ❤️ Bring your fire for justice.

Let’s make April 19 unforgettable.

Marinette: No Kings Rally

Join Marinette Menominee Indivisible for No Kings, a community rally on the beautiful Stephenson Island, where Wisconsin and Michigan meet—divided only by the Menominee River, united in purpose.

The event commemorates the early hours of April 19, 1775, when Paul Revere arrived in Lexington after his legendary ride to warn that the British were coming. Nearly 250 years later, we gather on that same day to sound a new alarm: authoritarianism has no place in America. No kings. No billionaires buying power. Just the people.

Expect: 🎶 Music, 📣 Energizing chants, 🚶 An optional symbolic walk across the bridge, 🤝 A chance to connect, organize, and act.

This event falls on the day before Easter, and what a great opportunity to spend a few hours with the whole family defending our values. We also invite attendees to bring a canned good or non-perishable item when you arrive. All collected items will be donated to a local food pantry serving communities on both sides of the river. Let's make sure nobody is hungry this holiday.

Our April 5 "Hands Off" rally drew nearly 200 participants—and we’re aiming even higher this time. We’ve fine-tuned the program, brought in new energy, and we’re ready to make this one even more impactful. Let’s shoot for 500 strong!

Come as you are—bring your signs, your spirit, and your friends. Let’s raise our voices together and say it loud: No Kings. Only the people.

Muskego: Day of Action - Sign Holding Event

  • S69 W15476 West Janesville Road Muskego, WI, 53150 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Join us in Muskego for a sign holding event at the corner of Moorland Road and Janesville Road from 10:30-11:30am.

We are facing a national crisis. Since his inauguration, Donald Trump has launched an unprecedented power grab—driving up prices, slashing funding for essential programs, and creating instability at every turn. Enabled by Elon Musk and Republicans in Congress, his corrupt agenda is making life harder for everyday Americans while eroding our democracy. We can’t afford to wait any longer to fight back.

They think everything belongs to them. Trump and his allies are rapidly stripping America for parts and selling us out—and now Congress is trying to do the same by slashing Medicaid, Social Security, cancer research funding, and more. Why? To give more tax cuts to billionaires.

But the services and jobs they’re slashing aren’t theirs—they’re ours. Our communities are paying the price while the Trumps and Musks of the world cash in. It’s not just about money—it’s about power. his administration is targeting everybody who isn’t part of the 1%—veterans, kids, seniors, farmers, immigrants, transgender people, and political opponents. All to consolidate power and reward their allies.

The lawlessness, cruelty, and corruption has gone too far.

Whether you're outraged by skyrocketing healthcare costs, job cuts, attacks on privacy, or the gutting of essential services—this moment is for you. Whether you've been in the fight for years or you're just fed up and ready to take action—this moment is for you.

La Crosse: Reclaim Our Community Rally

  • Losey & State Rd La Crosse, WI, 54601 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

SATURDAY, APRIL 19

NOON TO 2 P.M.

LOSEY & STATE ROAD

For April 19th we want to focus a bit more on our local politicians, mainly Derrick Van Orden who keeps dodging our town halls. If you would like to make signs, we would love to see them! Ideas that we have are Where's Derrick in the theme of "Where's Waldo," Derrick the Menace in the theme of "Denice the Menace."

But the big thing we really want to focus on having a positive community event based on educating others on the resources that we have in our area and how we can help support them. Please see the below message:

Much like Trump and Musk, we can't count on our local politicians to fight for us. When our local programs are getting cut and the people in our communities are suffering, where is our local representation?

Derrick Van Orden may continue to dodge our town halls but we can still show up for one another! Come join us once again at the Cross sections of State Road and Losey Boulevard to come together once again as a community.

This will be another non-violent visibility community event! Bring your signs, and if you are able to, bring a non perishable food item or hygiene item for our local Wafer Food Pantry that supplies the hungry people in La Crosse and the surrounding area. We want to be more community focused so bring your knowledge about a community need or non-profit and share with those around you! When you get to the event there is no need to spread out, get to know your fellow neighbors and share what you learn about our resources!

There are two goals of this visibility event:

Continued momentum in solidarity against Trump and Musk and our local politicians who are engaging in similar conduct. Call them out on their recess! Bringing the community of La Crosse and the surrounding areas together and being able to take care of our neighbors. We invite you to join us with this event, meet your neighbors, share stories and build on how we can continue to take care of each other through the continued cuts.

Monroe - Candlelight Vigil for Kilmar Abrego Garcia

JOIN US FOR JUSTICE. CANDLELIGHT VIGIL FOR KILMAR ABREGO GARCIA

The next 50501 day of action is Saturday, April 19th.

As you may know, Kilmar Abrego Garcia was wrongfully deported from Maryland despite a judge's ruling that it was unsafe for him to return to El Salvador. He fled gang violence in 2011, seeking safety and a future here in the United States. Since then, he built a life and family. He has a U.S. citizen brother, a wife, a five-year-old son with nonverbal autism, and two stepchildren, one with epilepsy and the other with autism. I can’t imagine the heartbreak those children are facing without their father. That life, that fatherhood, was ripped away when Kilmar was deported to a notorious Salvadoran prison known for inhumane conditions and human rights abuses.

Kilmar's family sued the Trump administration, and the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the government must facilitate his return. Even the Department of Justice acknowledged that his deportation was an “administrative error.” Yet, both the United States and El Salvador have refused to take any steps to bring him home. In the wake of a joint press conference between Donald Trump and President Bukele, many are questioning whether this was a simple error, or a politically motivated act. One thing is clear: Kilmar Abrego Garcia is now the victim of one man’s ego. We demand his return. We demand justice.

Join us in Monroe for our next 50501 action day on Saturday, April 19th for a peaceful candlelight vigil to protest a government that seems like it couldn't care about its people. To stand in support of a father and a family man who was ripped apart from his life as a casualty of the practices of our government, and to demand his return. Our voices, combined with hundreds of protests across the country this day will send a powerful message to the White House: We the people are not okay with this. We the people love this country too much to watch it fall, and we know that liberty and justice is worth working for.

Battery powered candles will be provided, we expect a peaceful gathering. It's starting on the south lawn of the Green County Courthouse, 7:30 PM. Join us! It takes a village.

Green Bay - Prayer Vigil to End Solitary Confinement

Note: We meet at GBCI off of Webster Avenue.

We will gather in solidarity to hold space for those incarcerated at Green Bay Correctional Institution (GBCI), where individuals are subjected to solitary confinement and inhumane living conditions. This vigil marks 12 months of monthly action to bring awareness to these injustices—not only at GBCI but throughout Wisconsin’s prison system—and to demand the closure of GBCI without the construction of a new prison in its place.

We invite you to join us in reflection to the suffering endured within these walls. It is crucial that we confront the policies that perpetuate this harm—policies that stand in direct opposition to our shared values of dignity, compassion, and justice. We urge members of the public to take action by contacting their legislators, and we call on lawmakers to create policy that upholds human rights rather than continue cycles of punishment and disproportionate incarceration.

Over the past year, these monthly vigils have united elected officials from across the political spectrum, individuals directly impacted by the criminal legal system, and concerned community members. Together, we have raised our voices to demand the closure of GBCI. The concerns extend beyond the incarcerated; staff members, too, are affected by the facility’s deteriorating conditions. We call on our elected leaders to prioritize humane alternatives and meaningful investments in decarceration—not the expansion of a broken system.

Manitowoc: May Day Strong: We are the Many

Across the country—from fruit fields in California to classrooms in Chicago, from kitchens in Queens to loading docks in Atlanta—working people are rising up. We are demanding a country that puts our families over their fortunes—public schools over private profits, healthcare over hedge funds, housing over homelessness.

Musk, Trump and their fellow profiteers are trying to create a race to the bottom—on wages, on benefits, on dignity itself. They want to erase labor rights, break our unions, and silence immigrant voices.

May Day 2025 we are standing united. We're organizing for a world where every family has housing, healthcare, fair wages, union protection, and safety—regardless of race, zip code, or immigration status.

They’re defunding our schools, privatizing public services, attacking unions, and targeting immigrant families with fear and violence. This is a war on working people—and we will not stand down.

This May Day, we will turn the page. This is the beginning of a new era—one where working families lead, immigrants are protected, and no one is left behind. This is not charity. This is not a request. We are reclaiming our power from corporate elites, and we will not be intimidated by Trump, Musk, or their billionaire backers. They’ve ruled for too long. Their time is up.

STOP THE BILLIONAIRE TAKEOVER. WE ARE THE MANY. THEY ARE THE FEW. THIS IS MAY DAY. JOIN US.

Wausau: Marathon Dems - Resistance Lab Organizing Training 101

  • 218 Sherman Street Wausau, WI, 54401 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Resistance Lab Training begins Sunday, April 13th online from noon-1:30 pm at the Marathon County Democrats Office.

Pramila Jayapal, Congresswoman from Washington State, designed the Resistance Lab.

What is the Resistance Lab?

The Resistance Lab is a series of trainings that are developed specifically for this moment. In this first lab, we look at how non-violent movements around the world have responded to leaders who seize power in authoritarian ways and the most effective tools and tactics to utilize in these moments. We offer frameworks to understand this moment at home, and incorporate interactive conversation with others to help create community and build our resistance movement.

The Resistance Lab was developed with experts who have researched and studied democratic backsliding around the world as well as in the United States and the non-violent movements that have emerged to challenge those authoritarian leaders. We also draw from many toolkits for effective tactics and frameworks as well as from Pramila’s own background leading successful organizing movements for economic and social justice for two decades.

Our goals are to help people understand how democracies fall and the most effective resistance movements that have challenged authoritarians and dictators; to turn anger, fear and frustration into action in the short-term while also preparing for a coordinated resistance movement for the longer term; and to build community across the country that can help grow our movement. At the end of the day, we want to get people strike-ready and street-ready and make sure we protect our people, our freedoms and our democracy.

With Trump and his MAGA billionaires doubling down on their attacks on the economic livelihoods of people to thrive and on our democracy, we can’t afford to sit this moment out. This is about building real power together. And it starts with you.

Marinette: NO KINGS Indivisible Rally · Stephenson Island (1680 Bridge St.) 10- 11:30 am
